Learning Difficulty and Impaired Coordination
Cerebral palsy patients may suffer from learning disabilities like brief attention spans, slow movements, hearing, speaking, and seeing difficulties. Brain injury may cause receptive language disorder where it is difficult to read and listen and expressive language disorder that makes it difficult to speak and express themselves. [10] CP may also cause motor planning issues which cause slow learning and understanding of how to execute simple tasks. [11]
Impaired coordination, also known as ataxia is the loss of muscle control (voluntary movements) caused by brain damage. Ataxic cerebral palsy is the loss of balance and coordination, causing jerky and struggling movements. [12]
