Colonoscopy & Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy is the best test for bowel cancer. Colonoscopy helps examine the length of the large bowel. Air is pumped into the colon through a flexible tube that is inserted into the anus. A camera is placed at the end of the tube, this is to help your doctor see if there are any abdominal tissue that can be removed for further examination.
Flexible sigmoidoscopy is used to examine the rectum and left side of the lower colon. After which there is a removal of any unusual tissue for further examination.
