Signs And Symptoms of Stomach Cancer

Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pain is a sign of gastric cancer. Given the many things that can trigger this symptom, most people never suspect stomach cancer until it has spread into nearby organs.

A tumor growing in your stomach may cause you to feel pain or only a persistent mild discomfort in your abdomen. [7] This pain or discomfort is often concentrated above the navel. As the tumor worsens, you may feel this pain more severe.

Abdominal Swelling

You may develop abdominal edema as part of your symptoms. This symptom usually only appears in the more advanced stages of gastric cancer. It causes your abdomen to gradually swell due to the accumulation of fluid. [8]

It is best to see a doctor if you notice this symptom. Treatment is more difficult once stomach cancer has advanced to this stage, but your doctor will decide on how to approach it after they test you. Seeing a doctor will also help you rule out other conditions that can cause this symptom, such as kidney disease.
