High-fiber foods

High-fiber foods like fruits, whole grains, dried beans, peas, nuts, berries, and legumes will complicate the condition by increasing the number of bowel movements, the amount of gas and cause abdominal cramping.
Some other foods to avoid if you have ulcerative colitis are; hot sauce and spicy foods, high-fat meat, popcorn, raw vegetables, and sulfur food. It would be best to avoid these foods so as not to complicate the situation.
