Causes and Symptoms of Dry Cough

Tuberculosis

A persistent cough for more than three weeks is one of the signs of tuberculosis – a serious illness that, if left untreated, can lead to death. Although tuberculosis cough is classically productive (that is, with sputum), the cough can be dry in some other cases.

The treatment of tuberculosis is simple, done with antibiotics. However, it is long, lasting approximately six months.

Many patients abandon treatment with improved cough, without the disease being cured. In these cases, the cough returns stronger and the disease gets worse.

Heart Disease

Further reasons include the heart. But if we talk about heart diseases, then there is more shortness of breath, than the appearance of cough. And with heart failure [4], it grows and becomes more serious.
