Essential Oils for Eczema Treatment

Calendula Oil

Calendula oil [5] is extracted from calendula or marigold flowers.

A small study confirmed that it has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce swelling and pain on the skin. However, there’s no specific research on calendula oil for eczema, so it is not certain that it can relieve your symptoms. You should talk to your doctor before you use it.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is considered to have various benefits, whether you cook with it or apply it topically.

There are some antimicrobial properties in coconut oil that make it reduce the chances of skin infection. It is also anti-inflammatory, so it may help ease dry skin caused by inflammation of the skin.

A 2013 study involving 117 children with eczema showed that applying virgin coconut oil topically for 8 weeks resulted in improvement of your skin.

You still need to apply caution before using coconut oil as it is not certain that it’ll improve your eczema. Some people may have an allergy to coconut oil. Ensure you talk with your doctor before applying coconut oil to your skin.
