10 Remedies for Ingrown Toenails

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a part of many traditional remedies. Many people recommend soaking feet with ingrown toenails in it for relief. Apple cider vinegar [1] is believed to have strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties that can help reduce swelling and pain around the ingrown toenails.

It is also considered a good antiseptic. Ingrown toenails can easily get infected with bacteria or other types of microbes. Apple cider vinegar can help fight off or prevent these infections.

To use this remedy, apply ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar to a basin of warm water. Soak the affected foot in it for at least 20 minutes every day before taking it out. You should dry the foot well immediately after.

Another way to apply this remedy is to use a cotton ball [2]. Dip a small ball of cotton in apple cider vinegar and apply it directly on the affected toenail. You should do this up to two times a day.
