10 Remedies for Ingrown Toenails

Soak Your Feet in Epsom Salt

Epsom salt [3] can help reduce inflammation and provide pain relief around the ingrown toenail. The anti-inflammatory properties of this salt are attributed to its high magnesium content.

To try this remedy, prepare a basin of warm water and add one or two tablespoons of Epsom salt to it. Soak the affected foot in it for up to 15 or 20 minutes. Repeat this procedure up to three times every day.

Soaking the affected foot in Epsom salt water can help soften the skin and nail enough for you to remove the ingrown nail from the skin. Once this is done, you can properly trim the nail so it doesn’t grow back into the skin.
