Home Remedies for Burning Feet Syndrome

Painful burning sensation in the feet can be of varying severity, from mild to excruciating pain. It may be accompanied by tingling, or numbness of the limbs. In some cases, the sensations can be so painful that they interfere with sleep.

Temporary burning or soreness of the feet can cause excessive stress on the feet or a fungal skin infection. Burning feet syndrome is often a sign of either inflammation of the feet fascia (a layer of fibrous tissue on the sole) or nerve damage which can be caused by different factors such as chronic alcohol use, diabetes, exposure to toxins, deficiencies in certain B vitamins, or HIV infection

Home Remedies

There are several pathological causes of burning in the legs, so this syndrome requires complex treatments. However, there are a number of situations that do not belong to serious diseases, but are due to superficial cause. They can be easily avoided or treated with regular foot prophylaxis, home treatment and good hygiene. Some of these home treatments are listed below.

Apple Cider Vinegar

According to a study, this natural tonic has calming and anti-inflammatory properties. [1] Thus, it reduces the discomfort that accompanies the burning in the feet. Its acidic pH stops the growth of fungi and prevents infections and skin problems.

To prepare an apple cider vinegar solution, you need about 3 cups of water and a little amount of apple cider vinegar. Allow the water to heat up but do not allow it to boil. Put the hot water in a bowl and add your apple cider vinegar. Mix and stir well to have your final apple cider vinegar solution.

To use, soak your feet for 20 minutes and then dry them. Repeat this procedure twice a day till the symptoms totally disappear. If symptoms persist, you may need to see a doctor.
