How to Treat Plantar Fasciitis(Policeman’s Heel)?

Injections

Administering injections is another treatment for plantar fasciitis. Aside from medication, the use of injection may also be useful. Doctors may inject steroid medication into the area to offer relief for the pain the individual feels.

Administering multiple shots may weaken the plantar fasciitis; so, it is usually not recommended. Platelet-rich plasma can be injected into the tender area with the use of Ultrasound imaging.

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy

This procedure involves the use of sound waves. These waves are directed at the region of the heel pain to allow for healing. In most cases, extracorporeal shock wave therapy is used for chronic plantar fasciitis. Doctors follow this treatment procedure when the individual hasn’t responded to other treatment options. Please note that this procedure may not be sufficient for some individuals; however, some studies show that it leads to positive results.
