Symptoms of Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

The symptoms of tarsal tunnel syndrome include discomfort, numbness, and tingling. Anywhere along the tibial nerve can experience this discomfort, but it’s also typical to have it in the foot sole or inside the ankle. This can feel like:
- stinging
- stabbing pains
- electric shocks
- a burning sensation
Each person’s symptoms are very different from one another. Some people suffer symptoms that worsen over time, while others have symptoms that start quite quickly.
Actively moving the body can often make pain and other symptoms worse. However, if the problem is chronic, some people even feel pain or tingling when sleeping or resting.
