Foods That Lower Uric Acid for Gout Relief

Water

While you may not consider this food, drinking water can help relieve your gout. Water is important for several reasons, one of which is its ability to dilute uric acid concentration in the blood.

One study suggested [3] that increased water consumption reduced serum uric acid by promoting uric acid excretion. Another study found that people who drank enough water for a 24-hour period preceding a gout flare had significantly fewer [4] recurrent attacks.

Ensure you drink enough water every day to reduce the risk of uric acid levels spiking enough to cause pain and inflammation. If you are unsure how much water to drink, a minimum of 10 eight-ounce glasses a day is good.
