Foods That Lower Uric Acid for Gout Relief

Vegetables

Vegetables are generally low in purine [5] and are good for gout. Purine is a substance in many foods that causes your body to produce uric acid as a waste product of its digestion. In people with gout, this uric acid can accumulate instead and trigger attacks.

Certain vegetables such as cauliflower, green pea, spinach, asparagus, and mushrooms contain moderate levels of purine. Swapping these vegetable types for those low in purine can help reduce the buildup of uric acid in your blood and relieve your symptoms. If you must eat these specific vegetables, you should limit the amount you consume per day to half a cup or less.
