Berry/Cherry Treatment

After published research in the journal of Arthritis and Rheumatology [2], experts advise to regularly eat fresh berries [3] to cleanse the body of excess uric acid. This research showed that taking cherries for 2 days can reduce the risk of having a gout attack by about 35 percent in those that have already been diagnosed with gout.  Any berry other than raspberries, which are high in purine bases, are helpful for gout. The chemical composition of berries contains many organic acids and bioflavonoids, which accelerate metabolism, improve blood circulation and microcirculation, and prevent the deposition of crystals in the small joints of the legs. Blueberries and cherries have high amounts of anthocyanins, which are chemicals that are anti-inflammatory. It was shown that symptoms were significantly reduced in those that eat whole cherries or cherry juice, as well as people who take cherry extract supplements. In addition to taking a gout drug, they also observed a 75 percent reduction in risk of gout attacks in individuals that ate cherries. Cherry juice ad cherries are readily available in many supermarkets as well as online stores.
