Common Cold

The common cold or influenza is caused by a virus that irritates the nose and throat and has many symptoms, including catarrh, cough, and headache. The irritation builds pressure in the sinuses and nasal pipes, which may lead to a headache. This pain may last throughout the infected period or recur until the infection is treated.
In most cases, headaches, sinus discomfort, and other symptoms caused by the common cold do not need to see a doctor. Headache is a common symptom of a cold, but it may also indicate a larger medical problem. If your headache lasts longer than five days, is severe, or is accompanied by vomiting or a visual impairment, please get a consultation with your doctor immediately. [15]
