Hoarseness of the voice
One of the foremost symptoms of laryngitis is the hoarseness of the voice. This symptom is also known as Dysphonia. Hoarseness is characterized by a scrappy, strained, and breathless voice. This symptom can cause the throat to be itchy, and discomforting. Hoarseness occurs more commonly in females than in males.
Pain on swallowing
Laryngitis causes pain in the throat when swallowing. This makes it difficult to swallow food, saliva, or fluids. Medically, the pain felt on swallowing is called dysphagia. This pain is felt at the back of the throat and somewhat constant throughout this disease. However, the pain is exacerbated when you swallow or talk.
