Inaudible voice or weak voice

It is normal to have your voice become slightly or totally inaudible in laryngitis. Why does this happen? In laryngitis, the vocals cords become inflamed so they increase in size. This increase in size prevents the sound from passing through the cords effectively. The defect in the movement of sound waves causes the voice to be inaudible and even hoarse. Due to this, people with this condition put in great effort to be audible. This causes them to strain their voice and subsequently worsen their condition. Hence it is advised that people with laryngitis limit their speech and rest their voice.

Dry feeling at the back of your throat

Laryngitis causes a feeling of dryness and heaviness at the back of the throat. It comes with an itchy feeling. A dry throat in this condition is quite common among patients. Patients often feel the need to drink plenty of water at intervals.
