Is CMML Common?

CMML is not so common. It is a rare type of leukemia. According to the American Cancer Society, [2] CMML is estimated to occur in 4 out of every 1 million people in the United States per year, which amounts to 1,100 new diagnoses every year.
The condition can happen to anyone, no matter the age or gender. However, it is more common to people of the age 60 and above. It is also more common in men than in women. CMML can easily be misdiagnosed because it is similar to other conditions coupled with the fact that it is rare.
