Blood Infection

Bacteremia, which is the presence of germs in the blood can result from K. pneumoniae getting into your system.
K. pneumoniae directly enters your bloodstream and causes primary bacteremia. When K. pneumoniae enters your bloodstream from another part of your body, it is known as secondary bacteremia.
Researchers predicted in a 2016 study that lung infections caused by Klebsiella account for almost half of blood infections caused by this bacteria.
The onset of symptoms is typically abrupt. Among them could be:
- cold
- sweats
- trembling
Treating bacteremia right away is necessary. Sepsis, a severe reaction to an infection, can result from untreated bacteremia and become potentially fatal.
