Diagnosis
Your doctor will diagnose viral meningitis by requesting certain lab tests on cells in your body. If your doctor notices symptoms of the condition, he or she may need samples for testing by:
- Drawing fluid from around your spinal cord
- Swabbing your nose or throat
- Taking some blood
- Obtaining a stool sample
