Monopoly on Conversation

One of the most popular traits of narcissism [2] is the monopoly on the conversation. If you find yourself constantly monopolizing conversations with your friends, you may be a narcissist. Do you talk over people? Do you interrupt your friends when having a conversation? These behaviors can border on a compulsion, silencing other people for a period. You may also find yourself ignoring what others say or only giving superficial responses before shifting the conservation back to them.
According to studies, these narcissistic characteristics develop from:
- Lack of empathy [3]
- Excessive need for praise
- Sense of entitlement
Narcissists are known to ignore the opinions and ideas of others. They always want all the attention in the room to be on them.
