Common Symptoms of Stress

Changes in Appetite

Significant changes in appetite is another symptom of stress. Stress can cause a decrease in appetite resulting in a lack of desire to eat. When this happens, even your favorite foods may not interest or excite you as they used to. You may find yourself unable to eat well or even eat at all. These changes in appetite, may also affect your weight, resulting in weight fluctuations and even weight loss or gain.

Changes in appetite due to stress could also mean an unhealthy increase in the desire to eat. This is characterized by overindulging and overeating. For instance, 1,355 people were studied [6], and the study showed that one of the factors causing weight gain for overweight adults is stress.
