Talk Back to Negative Thoughts

Are you having negative thoughts about people or events around you? This can worsen your anxiety disorder and make you more uncomfortable around people. In most cases, these thoughts are usually wrong. You may find yourself misinterpreting people’s facial expressions. This would make you think people are talking or thinking about you.

You can eradicate these negative thoughts from your head by following these steps:

  • Get a pen and book
  • Think of all the negative thoughts you have in specific situations.
  • Write them down in your book
  • Write down every positive thought that challenges negative ones.

Let’s take a look at this example:

Negative thought: “This event makes me so anxious, I will feel uncomfortable around it.”

Challenge: “I know I have felt anxious before, but I’ve always gotten through it. I’ll only pay attention to the positive areas of the situation.”
