Schizophrenia Symptoms and Warning Signs

Early warning signs of schizophrenia

Some early warning signs [7] that show the onset of schizophrenia are listed below:

Isolation from society

In the early stages of schizophrenia, a person may avoid socializing with people, including their family and friends. Such a person will strive for complete isolation, may stop going to school, work, and other social events.

Personal hygiene

A person who begins to manifest a mental disorder ceases to maintain personal hygiene. Even the simplest actions seem very complicated to the patient, hygiene procedures are performed slowly. This behavior also manifests itself in depression.

Religiousness and other obsessions

Schizophrenia can begin to manifest itself in the form of an obsession with religion, mysticism, esotericism, and subcultures, as well as paranormal phenomena.

Involuntary sharp movements. Patients with the disorder at an early stage begin to blink frequently, twitch the corners of the mouth, and exhibit overly active facial expressions. It is worth paying attention to the movement of the limbs: trembling, twitching, involuntary movements.

Voices in the head

Schizophrenia can affect any of the five human senses, but auditory hallucinations are the most common.
