Thought disorders

The patient’s language [3] becomes incomprehensible and fluency is impaired. Often the thought is disorganized, the ability to link ideas is lost and they move from one theme to another with no specific connection to these topics. We call it disorganization of thought when this loss is extreme and the meaning is incoherent.
Alteration of what they feel about themselves and others
The individual may fear that their body is changing [4] in a particular way and this may cause them to see themselves as strange. People that have schizophrenia may say they do not like the way they remember themselves when they stare into the mirror. The boundaries between oneself and others are not clear; because of this, they may believe that others can know what they think or on the contrary, they believe that they can guess what others think.
Deterioration of emotions
Affectivity gets poorer. It can reach the absence of feelings. Patients are expressionless and cold towards others. The individual may have trouble communicating [5] what he/she feels, feelings of love and affection towards others may diminish, and he/she may have some trouble demonstrating them.
Behavior and Isolation
With regard to attitude, the individual can abandon their personal hygiene, and isolate themselves since they lost their motivation and energy, experiencing a feeling of emptiness and even presenting irrational or unacceptable behaviors [6] that can be caused by what they claim is delusions and a result of their hallucination. Patients withdraw into themselves and their inner world.
