Can an aura occur without a headache?

An aura can occur without a migraine attack. It is referred to as silent migraine. Even though the migraine pain does not occur, the aura symptoms may still affect one’s daily life. One may also experience an ocular migraine [5]; this is a type of migraine attack characterized by visual symptoms that occur without pain. Migraine with aura and retinal migraine is sometimes considered types of ocular migraine. Migraine attacks without pain may sometimes be diagnosed as seizures or transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) [6] as a result of similarity in symptoms.
