Thyme Oil

Thyme is a common seasonal food and an herb. Thyme oil is extracted from thymus vulgaris’ leaves and flowers through distillation.
Thyme oil is a common ingredient in oral hygiene products because it contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. And thyme oil has several compounds that are beneficial to health, such as borneol, thymol, cineol, camphor. It has the abilities to relieve body inflammation remove foodborne bacteria and improve heart and oral health.
Some people may have some side effects, including allergic reactions, headache, asthma, gastrointestinal irritation and distress, dizziness and muscle weakness.
Don’t swallow thyme oil or use undiluted in your skin. The pregnant and breastfeeding should ask the doctor before using it. And don’t give the children thyme oil.
Persons with dental abscess can dilute thyme oil with warm water and used as a mouthwash to eliminate toxins. Or, apply with a cotton ball on the infected tooth for a few minutes to reduce swelling and improve soreness.
