Chamomile Tea

With a long history of using as a folk medicine, chamomile contains chemicals flavonoids which play a vital role in its remedy effects. Chamomile tea helps reduce inflammation and swelling in the body and may improve symptoms of dental abscess.

Other health benefits of chamomile tea including lowering blood sugar, preventing or slowing osteoporosis, treating or preventing cancer, improve sleep, help relax, treating diabetes, reduce menstrual pain and more.

The dried flowers of chamomile are often used to make chamomile tea and it’s easy to finish. Add the chamomile tea bag in boiling water and leave to cool, then take a sip and swish around the infected area for a few minutes up to three times per day.

People with even mild allergic reaction to chamomile (or chamomile products), or chamomile pollens, infants and young children should avoid chamomile. Chamomile should be used as a supplement, not a replacement. Usually 1 to 2 cups a day is recommended to improve health.

You can place tea bags of any of the before-mentioned teas on the infected area for thirty minutes or up to several hours to reduce pain and swelling. Leaving it overnight is enough time for the ingredients to seep in through the bag and soothe the spot, providing relief. Peppermint [6] and chamomile teabags have proved useful in lessening the pain of an abscessed tooth.
