Symptoms
This condition occurs in phases. The earlier the stage is, the less severe the symptoms are. The following are manifestation of periodontitis:
- Sensitive teeth
- Bad breath
- Loose teeth
- Sore gums
- Red, swollen gums
- Sensitive teeth
- Discomfort during chewing
- Gums that recede (pull back) from the teeth
- Movement of teeth away from position
- Bleeding gums
Gum pockets are formed when gums move away from a tooth. In some cases, these spaces get infected and lead to severe gum conditions.
