Symptoms and Diagnosis of Sarcoidosis

Lungs & Lymphatic System

The patient complains of dry cough [3], recurrent mild chest pain, weakness, loss of appetite and weight, fever, the feeling of enlarged lymph nodes, and respiratory failure. Currently, researchers are testing theories about hereditary predisposition for the development of this disease (there are proven cases of the disease among close relatives), as well as the influence of the environment. The main marker of sarcoidosis is granulomas in the lungs – these are dense nodules of inflammation in the affected tissues. These are the basis for the definition of the sarcoidosis – non-infectious inflammatory process manifested in the appearance of granulomas in the lungs.

Regarding to sarcoidosis found in lymphatic system, the patient suffers from the same manifestations as in sarcoidosis of the lungs. These two forms of pathology often develop together. With the defeat of the cervical, subclavian lymph nodes, seals are observed at their location. With sarcoidosis of the abdominal nodes, the patient may suffer from indigestion, abdominal pain.
