5 Main Symptoms of Septicemia

Delirium or Confusion

Confusion can also be referred to as disorientation [3]. It is when you can’t think clearly, and you find it difficult to focus. It is a severe symptom and should be treated urgently. Confusion or disorientation, if not treated urgently, could lead to delirium. Delirium is a more severe form of disorder characterized by individuals experiencing emotional disruption coupled with mental disorientation.

Prolonged confusion in an individual could lead to a progressive declination in brain function; a condition called dementia [4]. One could experience loss of their ability to perform daily functions requiring the brain such as judgment, memory, and cognitive skills.

Delirium and confusion are regarded as severe symptoms of Septicemia, and if one begins to experience it, they should immediately visit the doctor to treat it as urgently as possible.
