Pain in the Sinuses and Throat Irritation
Pain is one of the commonest signs of sinus infections. There are different sinuses behind the nose, above the nose, and below the eyes. One of these can cause severe pain when there is a sinus infection. The inflammation and swelling of the sinuses cause aching.

Throat irritation causes pain when an individual tries to swallow when eating. The pain from an irritated throat can be suppressed by using OTC pain relief drugs. Individuals can also gargle with salt water or suck on a lozenge to help the condition.

The acute sinus infection leaves in one to two weeks when an individual undergoes proper care and medication. However, chronic sinus infection requires help from a licensed doctor. Engaging in good hygiene and keeping the sinuses moist and clear can help shorten the infection course in individuals.
