There are many home remedies [2] for insomnia. Good habits and relaxation techniques are real helpers in the fight for healthy sleep. They are effective in combination with other treatments, but sometimes this is enough to completely eliminate the problem. Here are the main non-drug methods for getting rid of insomnia:

  • Sleep hygiene: Try to go to bed at the same time, and you should also not watch TV or use gadgets less than 40 minutes before bed. Try to relax in the ways you can: take a bath, listen to soothing music. Make sure that the room has enough fresh air and a comfortable temperature.

  • Herbal medicine: This is one of the most ancient and proven remedies for insomnia. Valerian, sweet clover, lemon balm, oregano, St. John’s wort, lily of the valley, peony, and others will contribute to falling asleep.
  • Massage: A relaxing massage is great for relieving muscle tension and relaxing. You can resort to self-massage of the head, ears, and neck.
