6 Common Symptoms of An Enlarged Spleen

Fatigue

Fatigue [3] is a common symptom of an enlarged spleen. It is usually accompanied by shortness of breath and weakness of the body. This will leave you unable to carry out tasks you previously could. It is caused by the buildup and congestion of the circulatory system. Sometimes you may feel light headed or dizzy [4] or be compelled to lie down often from the fatigue. Although this could be a symptom of other diseases or infections, it is quite common for enlarged spleens. There is sometimes a feeling of malaise or feeling unwell. This contributes to the fatigue and may become worse as the spleen enlargement continues. The sudden weight loss experienced could also be a cause of the fatigue you experience.
