Food Sensitivity and Joint Pain

Certain foods trigger symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome in some people. Around 70 percent [10] of people with this condition have certain foods they avoid. These trigger foods differ for everyone and it is not clear why they trigger symptoms.
Foods that may trigger symptoms in people with irritable bowel syndrome include gluten, lactose, and high-FODMAP foods like onions, lentils, beans, and cashews.
Increased joint pain has been linked to irritable bowel syndrome, although the relationship is not clear. In particular, a 2017 study [11] found that people with this disorder were more at risk of a type of joint pain known as temporomandibular disorder.
