Mouth Sores

Symptoms of herpes esophagitis involve the mouth and other areas of the body. These open wounds in the mouth can cause pain and interfere with the normal use of the mouth. It can also cause difficulty swallowing due to the swelling and ulceration of the throat or esophageal tissues. The mouth sores are called herpes labialis. Patients suffering from this symptom have a specific type of esophagitis; hence, it doesn’t accompany other types of esophagitis.
Esophagitis cannot be self-diagnosed because it has common symptoms with other digestive problems so it requires a medical diagnosis. Your doctor will conduct laboratory tests for a proper diagnosis and recommend effective treatment methods to manage or cure the situation. Symptoms usually last for a few days or weeks and in rare cases, may last for several months.
