Symptoms of peroneal tendonitis

Peroneal tendonitis can be acute, which means it manifests immediately, or chronic, which means it takes time to manifest.
There are a few common symptoms in both situations:

ankle instability when bearing weight

swelling at the rear of the ankle

pain at the back of the ankle that is worse during exercise and reduces during rest

the area is warm to the touch
