Do Not Take Alcohol or Any Acidic Drinks
It is not advisable to take alcoholic drinks during chemotherapy treatment. Just like alcohol, the metabolism of chemotherapy drugs also occurs in the liver and this causes the liver to overwork. If taken in excess during treatment, it might lead to liver damage. Alcohol affects the effectiveness of the chemotherapy drugs and this can delay the healing process and make the condition worse.
Another side effect of chemotherapy is that it leads to the production of sores in the oral cavity. Because of these sores in the mouth, it is important that chemotherapy patients stay away from acidic or carbonated drinks.
