Treatment for BV

Your doctor will provide you with an antibiotic prescription, usually for metronidazole or clindamycin. You insert the gel or cream form of these drugs into your vagina. Some antibiotics come in pill form that you can consume.
It’s crucial to take the antibiotic as directed by your doctor and to finish it. If you stop too soon because your symptoms go away, you have a higher risk of developing BV once more.
Without the need for treatment, some bacterial vaginosis cases resolve on their own. However, you should visit a doctor if you experience any symptoms. Being BV-positive increases your risk of STIs [5] and may interfere with getting pregnant.
