What Is Postpartum Hernia?

Hernia is a medical condition that results from an organ pushing through an opened area in the muscle [1] or tissue. Hernia mostly occurs between the chest and hip area of the body. There are different types of this condition. There are different types of hernia such as inguinal, umbilical, incision, postpartum hernia. Hernia is not life threatening in most situations but should be treated immediately in order to avoid further complications.

Postpartum hernia comes up as result of various effects on the body such as pregnancy, vaginal delivery and caesarian section. It comes as a small bulge above the belly button area after pregnancy.
