Wrinkly Nipple: What It Means & How to Treat It

Nipples appear in different shapes, colors, and sizes. Some people may have inverted nipples. These nipples may look sunken in, giving a wrinkled appearance. People with inverted nipples can still breastfeed. Generally, inversion and wrinkling are not dangerous, but if it’s a new development, it could show signs of breast cancer.

In some cases, inverted nipples are caused by stress or changes in body temperature. Swelling and lumpiness of the breasts and nipple are observed before a menstrual cycle.
