Swelling
Women with a yeast infection may experience swelling in the vagina. In most cases, individuals may experience swelling of the labia, which is also called the lips of the vagina. Note that it’s normal for the labia to have different sizes. However, allergies and infections can produce a noticeable swelling.
Swelling is a symptom of a yeast infection that may occur alongside other conditions like general itching, discharge from the vaginal area, foul-smelling from the vaginal region, bump on the labia, and pain while walking or sitting.
One of the common causes of vaginal swelling apart from a yeast infection is trichomoniasis. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [3], trichomoniasis is an STD that affects around 3.7 million people, and it’s due to a parasite.
