Forward Head Posture: Causes, Side Effects, and More

Why do I have Forward Head Posture?

Forward head posture develops when tilting down the head for a long time. It is the culprit of the nerd’s neck. Habits like excessive smartphone usage, too much computer time, driving, and carrying heavy backpacks can lead to a forward head posture. Past neck injuries, weak neck muscles, and improper breathing can be triggers, too. In addition, baseball players, tennis players, and golfers are more susceptible to forward head posture as these sports involve overuse of one side of the shoulder. Forward head posture causes significant pressure on the neck. Consequently, correcting the poor posture in time is strongly suggested. [2]
