Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder are rich sources of brain-boosting compounds, such as antioxidants, caffeine, and flavonoids. Dark chocolate has about 70% or larger cocoa content. These benefits do not apply with regular milk chocolate, which has between 10-50% cocoa.
Flavonoids are a group of antioxidant plant compounds. They usually gather in certain areas of the brain that are responsible for memory and learning. Scientists believe that they help boost memory and also help treat age-related mental decline.
A study on 900 people discovered that those who ate chocolate more frequently performed better in a series of mental activities, like those involving memory, unlike those who didn’t eat it.
Studies also show that chocolate helps improve mood.
