Conclusion

A brain freeze can be painful, however, it is not serious as it tends to go away on its own quickly. It occurs as a result of the sphenopalatine ganglion nerves reacting to the consumption of cold drinks or food or a freezing atmosphere. To prevent ice cream headaches, avoid freezing consumption and atmosphere especially if you have a history of migraine. If the pain lingers for up to 5 minutes and starts to appear more frequently, you should call your doctor.
