Does Wi-Fi Cause Cancer?

Wi-Fi and radiation

Like Bluetooth speakers, cellphones, computers, and other electronic devices, wireless networks transmit invisible radio waves in the form of radiofrequency radiation (EMFs), through the air. The release of radiofrequency radiation (EMFs) may be responsible for the questions around Wi-Fi and cancer. The waves contain energy created by electricity and are also called radiation. EMFs can be divided into two groups:

  • Non-ionizing
  • Ionizing radiation: ionizing radiation is high-level radiation. It can negatively affect the cells and DNA. Examples include X-rays and ultraviolet (UV) rays.
