Breast Milk Maintains Baby’s Healthy Weight

According to research, babies who are breastfed exclusively develop a healthy weight and are less prone to childhood obesity. Studies show that breastfeeding for more than four months can significantly reduce the risks of obesity and overweight in a baby. This is usually caused by the development of different gut bacteria. Babies who are exclusively breastfed have large amounts of good gut bacteria which may affect storage of fat. They also contain more leptin in their system than babies who receive formula regularly.
In addition, breast fed infants have the ability to control their milk consumption. As a result, they only eat when they are hungry and stop when they are satisfied. This helps them maintain a healthy eating cycle.
