Chronic inflammation is known to cause many adverse health conditions, like diabetes [1], arthritis [2], and heart disease. Nutmeg contains anti-inflammatory monoterpenes, like terpineol, pinene, and Sabinene. They are known to help treat inflammation in the body and treat inflammatory conditions. Studies show that the antioxidants like phenolic and cyanidins compounds found in nutmeg, have anti-inflammatory properties.
