Every type of cancer has different screening methods, recommended by the American Cancer Society (ACS). Changes in methods can change slightly, and timetables can be increased depending on the complications and family history. These are different kinds of cancer and how they screened for:

Breast Cancer

  • Between the ages of 41 and 45, women can be screened for breast cancer annually. Women with a family history of breast cancer are always advised to start early.
  • Women between the ages of 45 and 54 are advised to get yearly mammograms.
  • Women older than 55 can choose to get mammograms yearly or every two years
