Black Mold Exposure: Symptoms, Treatment & More

Myths regarding black mold

It’s critical to dispel any myths that certain individuals may hold regarding black mold. One widespread myth is that black mold emits poisonous substances called mycotoxins that result in health problems like migraines, memory loss, and baby pulmonary hemorrhage.

However, a 2017 analysis [2] found no proof that exposure to black mold caused any specific health issues.

Furthermore, although many different molds produce mycotoxins, these substances are mostly hazardous to humans who eat it in large amounts.

There is currently no proof that mycotoxins in the air cause disease, according to a 2019 evaluation of the relevant studies.
